The High School and Junior High students of Silver Lake kicked off the school year with a Back-to-School Bash at the Brader Country Barn. The FFA and FBLA chapters worked hard over the summer to make sure the event was ready for August 12. The students left school after sports practices concluded and headed out for a night full of food, friends, and fun. The evening started off with a meal of grilled hamburgers and hotdogs prepared by Kevin Bonifas. The FFA and FBLA officers pitched in and brought chips, desserts, and drinks to go along with the hamburgers and hotdogs. Wrapping up the supper, the FFA officers recited their opening ceremonies and the FBLA officers shared their favorite parts of the organization. Keeping the fun going, everyone participated in an FFA vs FBLA kickball game- even some of the teachers/sponsors got involved. To wrap up the day, everyone went on a hay rack ride through the pasture. The bash was a great time and the FFA and FBLA are looking forward to a great, successful year.
