The Lady Mustangs geared up for our Silver Lake Quad hungry for a win on October 22. The Mustangs went out and played the Deshler Dragons first round. During the first set, the Lady Mustangs went out strong and competed very well against Deshler coming out with a set one win of 25-9. In the second set, the girls were ready to take the whole game, but Deshler put up more of a fight in the second set but the Mustangs came out on top with a 25-16 win. Georgi tenBensel led the team with 9 kills along with Amanda Ehrman with 6 kills. Katelyn Karr and tenBensel also led the team with 13 and 15 digs.
After anxiously waiting for the next game to get over, it was the Lady Mustangs’ turn to take the court in the championship game against Axtell. The Mustangs fought a hard battle against the Lady Wildcats but fell short. In the first set, Silver Lake lost 20-25. In the next set, the girls put up more of a fight against the Wildcats with two set point matches, but unfortunately, Axtell took the second set as well with a score of 24-26. Ehrman and Seirra Hofstetter made up more than half of the team’s kills for Silver Lake, each contributing 6. Katelyn Karr had an impressive game as well leading the team with 17 digs and 20 serve receives.
