On Tuesday, October 22, the Silver Lake Lady Mustangs battled the Falcons of Wilcox-Hildreth on their home court. The Mustangs showed dominance the entire game, sweeping the Falcons with set scores of 25-16, 25-16, 25-14.
The freshmen controlled the net play, with Georgi tenBensel and Brooklyn Meyer tallying 14 and 9 kills respectively. Junior Kerigan Karr and sophomore Amanda Ehrman moved the ball well offensively with 16 and 15 assists respectively. With a total of 35 kills, the Mustangs maintained a .261 hitting percentage and held the Falcons to a .012 hitting percentage. The Mustang defense is what held the Falcons to just 19 kills for the three sets, led by sophomore Katelyn Karr with 16 digs and tenBensel with 15. From behind the line, Silver Lake earned 12 aces on the night with junior Madison Miller tallying 4 herself. The Mustangs look ahead to their home invite on Thursday, which will feature their last home and regular season games.
