The Silver Lake One Act Team woke up bright and early to take a trip to Scotia, Nebraska for District One Act on November 30th. The crew members and actors loaded their bus with props and hopes and headed off to compete to make it to state. The One-Act was called “The Hallmarks of Horrors,” and the students really enjoyed this one. Silver Lake performed first and then went to a back room to be critiqued by the judges. The judges gave them some very good feedback and constructive criticism. The crew stayed to watch some of the other competitions and eventually headed home. Hopes were high, but not high enough to make it to state. Overall, they placed 8th in the district. Actor Honor Awards were given to juniors Samantha Bonifas and Eric Blythe, sophomores Taylor Hanson and Lana Swanson, and seniors Trista Hanson and Brock Karr. Bonifas said, “This play was very enjoyable to be a part of. We all had a great time while putting it together.”
The Mustang One-Act team would like to give a special thank you and shout out to their directors, Trish Hinrichs and Ruth Lewis, for all the hard work and dedication that they have put into the play and actors this season. The play would not have been possible without all the students and directors.
