The March of Dimes is a nonprofit foundation to provide health for babies and young children. This past week the Silver Lake FBLA chapter organized a fundraiser to donate money to the March of dimes foundation. There was a competition between each class 7-12 to raise money to be able to compete in the dodgeball tournament which was held on Monday, November 22. Overall the classes together raised $820.44. Whichever class met their goal first was able to pick a teacher to be on their team for the tournament. The FBLA advisor Mrs. Behmer put in a lot of time to help plan the fundraising and competition. Behmer said, āIām always so proud of how our students always pull through and donate so much to a great cause.ā The participants of the tournament included seventh-graders, freshmen, sophomores, and seniors. The tournament was double elimination with a 10 minute time capacity. Although the limit was 10 minutes long, we had over four overtimes due to everyone being so competitive. The winner of the entire tournament was the freshman class. Coming in at second place was the sophomore class. Overall, everyone enjoyed competing and having fun; it was a great experience.
