The Silver Lake Golf Team had a successful 2022 season. This year the team consisted of Junior Samantha Bonifas, Junior Marissa Erickson, Junior Brooke Slangal, Sophomore Ashley Bonifas, Sophomore Brayden Hemberger, Sophomore Taylor Hanson, Sophomore Lana Swanson, Sophomore Trey Vance, and Freshman Emma Strampher. The golf team had four new ambitious golfers join the team. These golfers were Slangal, Hemberger, Swanson, and Strampher. Despite Hemberger being new to the team, he made it on varsity. The varsity team consisted of Erickson, Ashley Bonifas, Hemberger, and Vance. The junior varsity team consisted of Samantha Bonifas, Slangal, Hanson, Swanson, and Strampher. After being asked how Swanson felt the season went overall she said, “As a new golfer with little experience, this season has allowed me to improve greatly. Golf is a sport that can be played all throughout life and it is a great skill to learn and have.” On April 26th, the varsity team achieved 5th place at the Cyndi Peil Memorial Scramble. The team golfs for their last time on May 19th at their annual Student Teacher Golf Scramble. They are very excited to get out and golf with their teachers.
