On Friday, September 29, Mustang football played against the Deshler Dragons in Bladen for their homecoming game. The Mustangs won 49-12. Senior Keaton Karr scored four touchdowns for the Mustangs getting a total of 24 points. Junior Casey Conway had the most tackles for the game at six. Karr commented on their game and what they can improve on: “We need to be more efficient in scoring in the red zone. While also coming out with a strong defensive intensity in the first half of the game. By doing these things I believe that we can beat the Lawrence Nelson Raiders in our next game.” The Mustangs held off the Dragons for the second and third quarters. Head Coach Brown commented on the Mustang’s ability to keep pushing. “The team responded well after Deshler’s first touchdown. Our offense marched down the field on our first offensive possession and scored a touchdown to get the momentum back. After that, the team never looked back, we played well in all aspects of the game.” The Mustangs travel to Lawrence Nelson on Friday, October 6. On Thursday, October 12 is senior night and the last home football game.
