The Mustang runners complete their 2023 Cross Country season. On October 11, 2023, the Mustangs traveled to the Elks in Hastings for districts. Sophomore Hayden Karr placed the best out of the Mustangs with a run of 20:36 placing 46th. Following Karr was freshman Xander Journey placing 62nd. Freshman Lane Magarin and sophomore Frank Thomas followed close behind them. For the girl’s team junior Paige Faimon placed 30th with a personal record. This season had a lot of success. All of the runners beat their previous times in almost every meet. Coach Knehans was proud of the Mustangs this year and is excited for the upcoming season. “At the end of the season we usually try and measure success on where we started and where we ended by those metrics everyone improved throughout the season and our goals for next year are to start pacing and competing as a team every meet,” said Coach Knehans. Coach Knehans is thrilled for next year hoping for new and returning runners. Journey said, “I think the season overall went well. It was difficult, but next year the training will be difficult. I’m ready to go get it and have a great time.” The Mustangs have no seniors and look forward to having many returning runners.
