The Lady Mustangs went up against the Dorchester Longhorns on October 4, the night of
homecoming. The Mustangs had a three-set game winning all three sets. The set score was 21- 25, 22-25, and 19-25, all three in favor of the Mustangs. Senior Katy Soucek had the most kills with 9 kills. The Mustang’s offense was well-rounded, with three players adding 6 kills, senior McKenna Pankoke, freshman Libby Soucek, and junior MaKenna Karr. Karr also led the team with 3 aces, and she had 2 blocks to carry the team, one without assistance and one with assistance. Junior Sophie Schmidt had 20 digs while Karr had 11. Libby Soucek added 16 assists for the evening. Coach Shelby Rupprecht comments, “It was a lot of fun to be able to play a game on Homecoming night. I think it was something really special for all the girls to experience. I think we did some good things at times, but I also think we could’ve played at a much higher level than we did and brought a lot more energy.”
