The Battle of the Mustangs

On Friday, February 12th the Lady Mustangs basketball team played their final regular-season game against the Meridian Mustangs on their home court. This would be the final game at home for seniors Kerigan Karr & Madison Miller.  In the first quarter, Silver Lake scored 4 points, with Meridian scoring 7. In the second quarter, both teams scored 16 points making the score time 20 to 23 going into the half with the Silver Lake trailing behind. In the third quarter, Silver Lake scored 10 points to Meridians 20. To finish off the game in the fourth quarter the Mustangs scored 8 points and Meridian scored 3 with a final score of 38-46. Georgi tenBensel led the team in points, having 14 points. Katelyn Karr scored 9 points, and Kerigan Karr scored 8 points for the Lady Mustangs. Madison Miller, Amanda Ehrman, and Samantha Bonifas also helped put some points on the scoreboard. Amanda Ehrman helped out on defense with 8 rebounds and 2 steals. 

The Mustang Men took on the Meridian Mustangs following the girl’s game, with Logan Greenough, Matthew Hansen, Lane Parr, Derek Zubrod, and Blaine Simonton taking the court at their home gym for the last time. Silver Lake ended up winning 55 to 34. Oakley Rosno was the highest-scoring player with 13 points. Greenough was close behind scoring 11 points, and Quinn Rosno scored 9 points for the team. Blaine Simonton, Matthew Hansen, Jake Knehans, and Brock Karr also contributed to the scoreboard. On the defensive side, both Rosnos had 3 steals, Hansen had 2, Knehans had 1, Derek Zubrod had 1, and Greenough had 1.
