One of the biggest meets of the year included senior Paige Famion leaving the audience stunned. Paige had an amazing race at Centura passing a girl with about 100 meters left. Faimon commented, “The last 100 meters I kept telling myself that I must pass this person so I could place and get a medal.” Her consistency throughout the race was exceptional. She got fifteenth place and a medal with a time of 25:25.
Freshman Kaylee Karr was close behind Faimon. She had an excellent run and came in 22nd place. Her mindset was fixed on getting the best placement she could and trying her hardest to get positive outcomes.
The leader of the boys, junior Hayden Karr, was another one of our best races. Karr placed 29th out of the boys. His time was 21:47. Like all these runners, he just tried to beat the next person in front of him each time.
The Silver Lake junior high runners, 7th graders Elise Parr and Olivia Whitten, both did an amazing job as well with both girls leaving with a medal. Parr placed 7th and Whitten placed 8th both of these girls are only going to improve. Parr stated, “I was definitely intimidated by some of the schools I had never heard of before. The tall people always intimidate me because they have long legs and long strides.”
