On Thursday, October 17th the cross country team headed to districts in McCool Junction. The team competed at McCool the week before, so they were able to run the same course, which proved to be beneficial in improving times. Coach Knehans stated, “Our goal is to run our best times of the year at districts and we accomplished that this year. I’m hoping we come into next season with more summer training under our belt so we can get some state qualifiers.”
Freshman Kaylee Karr ran a personal best of 24:35, placing 24th out of 54 runners. Senior Paige Faimon ran her best time of the year 25:13 and placed 30th. Junior Hayden Karr ran a personal record of 20:24 and placed 30th out of 78 runners. Junior Frank Thomas and freshman Lee Gibson also improved upon their times, running 25:33 and 27:58, respectively. The Mustangs will only graduate one runner, and they hope to improve on their times to earn some district medals and compete at state.
