Parent Organization Supporting Student Education

P.O.S.S.E is for all elementary and high school parents who want to become more involved in their children’s education and improve Silver Lake schools.  From fundraising to sponsoring a trip, you can choose the activities that fit your schedule.  Take an active role and show your children that volunteering is a good and honorable thing.  For more information, contact Silver Lake Schools at (402) 756-6611.

What is the purpose of P.O.S.S.E?

The P.O.S.S.E organization exists for the betterment of our schools and to help improve the quality of education for the youth of the Silver Lake School District.  It promotes a positive and productive relationship between parents, teachers, and administration.

Who is involved in the P.O.S.S.E. organization?

The P.O.S.S.E. organization is open to all parents with students in the Silver Lake School District.  Any other interested person who does not have a student in a Silver Lake School may attend meetings as an interested party but may not vote.  We encourage more participation from parents to get fresh ideas for improvement.  Attending a meeting is the first step

How does P.O.S.S.E help our students and schools?

Its main function is to raise money and then distribute the funds evenly between the elementary and high schools to help in ways the parents and administration and/or teachers see fit.  Besides fundraising, parent members help sponsor school trips, work in concessions and volunteer in other activities as needed.  There are many ways to get involved and help.
