The Silver Lake Mustangs traveled to Franklin for a night full of football on October 15. Franklin’s record this season is 6-1. Head Coach Kyle Conroy said, “Before the game, I told the boys I wanted to see them play with heart, passion, and a little bit of fire. I believe they did that the entire game and they fought until the end and we just came up a little short.” The battle between the Flyers and Mustangs was the closest game the Mustangs have had all season. The Mustangs lost to the Flyers 36-40.
Even though the boys lost their game, they fought hard the whole time. The Mustangs had some of the best stats this season. The boys achieved 163 passing yards and 12 receptions, which is the most this season. Sophomore running back Quinn Rosno was selected as the Offensive Players of the Game against the Flyers. When Quinn was asked how he adjusted to his new position in football, he responded, “It took me a while to take it all in. After a week of practice and a few games, I started to get the hang of it. Now, I’m becoming a more confident running back and fulfilling my role on the team.” Quinn had three completions, 12 passing attempts, and 63 passing yards. Sophomore Defensive End Adrian Gomez was selected as the Defensive Player of the Game. Adrian played aggressively with nine solo tackles. Overall, the Mustangs had a long night fighting as hard as they could to keep them in the running.
