Mustangs Take Down the Hornets

By: Madison Miller

On February 11, the Mustangs traveled to Giltner for one of their last regular-season games. The first quarter brought to light who the better team was with a score of 19-1 in favor of the Mustangs. In the second quarter, the Lady Mustangs kept playing strong and added another 15 points to the scoreboard while the Giltner girls only added 5 more points. In the third quarter, the Hornets showed a little more promise than in the first half by out-scoring the Mustangs by 1. The fourth quarter was a little slower-paced for the Mustangs only adding 3 points to the score which led to the junior varsity being able to get in some varsity experience as well during this game. Kerigan Karr led the team with 14 points, followed by Amanda Ehrman and Madison Miller with 8 and 7 points respectively.

To finish off the night, it was the boy’s turn to take the court. The first quarter started off slow for the Mustang Men only scoring 7 points to the Hornets 6. Once the second quarter set in, the Mustangs locked in and scored 15 points while Giltner only scored 5. In the third quarter, Silver Lake outscored Giltner once again scoring 10 points to their 6. The fourth quarter was the Mustang’s strongest quarter of the game. Silver Lake was able to score another 19 points to add to the scoreboard while the Hornets were only able to put up 7. Matthew Hansen led the team in scoring with 14 points while Oakley Rosno came in a close second with 12 points. Logan Greenough and Quinn Rosno also finished the game both with a total of 9 points.
