The game on September 25 was a big loss for Silver Lake High School with the score being 61 for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller High School and 15 for Silver Lake. Sophomore Jake Knehans led the offense with 109 passing yards. On 20 carries, freshman Keaton Karr earned 66 rushing yards. Additionally, senior Canyen Jameson led the team with 47 receiving yards. Offensively, Karr led the team with 137 total yards. Defensively, Knehans picked up seven total tackles, with freshman Brayden Hemberger adding six of his own. Both freshmen Adrian Gomez and Hemberger earned a sack. Kyle Conroy, the coach of the Silver Lake team, said this about how he thinks the players are doing so far this year. “So far we have performed pretty well. There are still some little things that need to be corrected to be more competitive. In the last three weeks, we have played teams that are all ranked in the top 10 so our schedule has been tough and we have been dealing with injuries or players gone due to illness.”
