The Silver Lake Dance team traveled to the Heartland Event Center in Grand Island to perform at the Nebraska State Dance competition for the first time in Silver Lake history. They competed against other class C2/D schools. The dance team consists of junior Josi Sharp, sophomores Sydney Bartels and Ashley Bonifas, and freshman Macy Parr. These ladies put in a lot of hard work. Their dedication paid off because they came out on top as state champions in jazz. They also competed in Pom and received 8th place. Sydney Bartels explained her experience: “Competing at the 2022 State Dance Competition was a truly special experience for all of us. We’ve worked really hard since September for this day so we were all excited it was finally here. The team went in feeling confident with our dances and we are extremely happy with the outcome.”
