Dear Parents and Students,
I hope that all of you are doing well as we enter May. Our seniors have finished their classes and our other grade levels will finish May 21. Our principals will be communicating check-in procedures in the next couple of weeks for the return of computers, library books, and textbooks.
I can’t say enough positive things about all of our families’, students’, and staffs’ efforts during this situation. I know that it has been difficult at times. Thank you for your cooperation, patience, flexibility, and help you have been giving your children at home with their schoolwork and keeping them motivated. Students, as we near the end, I encourage you to finish strong.
This week would have been our graduation week. My thoughts are with our seniors and their families. I’m sure I speak for everyone in expressing how proud we are of them, for all of their individual and group accomplishments, and how excited we are to see what their futures hold. We will continue to watch the directed health measures and public restrictions and work with the South Heartland District Health Department and the Department of Education with how our graduation might be done. We will update you with any decisions as soon as we know anything.
I am including a message we received from NDE asking us to pass this survey on to our community members.
“The Nebraska Department of Education is seeking feedback from all stakeholders to understand local needs as well as potential investments and supports. Please take a moment to complete this short survey, also available in Spanish: – https://nde.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_efislqh4QDEA1KZ.”
If you get a chance, make sure to congratulate our Seniors.
Mr. Cumpston
