Senior Katelyn Karr led the team in points with 11, Senior Amanda Erhman had 9 points, and Junior Brooklyn Meyer and Freshman Emma Schmidt both had 7. Karr led the team in rebounds with 7, both Ehrman and Meyer contributed 3 each.
Meyer said, “I feel that as a team we played together defensively along with helping out with blocks and jumping on the ball when it was thrown down, but offensively our shots were not falling and that was not helping us out at all.” The final score was 48-42, Pleasanton. On Friday, January 7, the Lady Mustangs faced long-time rival Blue Hill at the barn. The Mustangs battled hard throughout the game, but in the end, they could not pull out on top. The final score was 42-34 with Blue Hill coming out on top.
Schmidt and Karr led the team in points both scoring 9 each, Meyer contributed 6, and Ehrman had 5. Erhman led the team in rebounds with 9, Junior Samantha Bonifas contributed 7, while Freshman Katy Soucek contributed 6, and Schmidt had 5. Head Coach Crowe commented on the game saying, “I was proud of the girls for how hard we battled during the game. We did not TEAM rebound all the time. Blue Hill is a good team. You can’t give a good team 2nd chance points with offensive rebounds. We also need to do a better job on shooting free throws.”
