Junior Emma Schmidt also contributed with 13 assists. The defensive leader for the team was sophomore Sophie Schmidt with 11 digs and 15 serve receptions.
The second game for the Lady Mustangs was against Wilcox-Hildreth. Yet again, the Mustangs won both sets with scores of 25-12 and 25-18. Leading the team offensively, Soucek and Emma Schmidt each had 7 kills. Senior Lana Swanson also contributed offensively with 11 assists. Defensive leaders were junior Sophie Butler with 13 digs and Karr with 11 digs. Also contributing defensively, Karr and Sophie Schmidt each had 8 serve receptions. Butler explained her thoughts on playing in the back row: “It takes every single person on the team to get a kill not just the hitter. You not only have to have a good pass, but you also have to have a good set to lead to a great kill. It really helped that we all worked well together and had high energy to win.”
