Junior High Volleyball Keeps Undefeated Season Going

By MaKenna Karr

On Saturday, Oct 3, 2021, the Junior High Silver Lake Mustang volleyball team was determined to keep their undefeated record as they played in their own tournament. They started out the first game against Wilcox-Hildreth strong, winning the first set 25-11 and they continued to play hard throughout the second set winning it also, 25-11. After winning the first game the mustangs stayed fired up and played Southern Valley in the championship game. The mustangs played hard throughout the first set and won it 25-16.

They continued to give their all throughout the second set and won it also, 25-13. Sophie Schmidt led the team in aces totaling 17 aces for the day. Head Coach Henkel commented on the tournament saying, “I’m very happy with how the girls played on Saturday. We’ve worked really hard all year and it’s good to add a championship to our season. We have three more games left and I believe we can have an undefeated season with these girls.”
