On Tuesday, April 19, the junior high track team battled the win at the Franklin track meet. The boys tied for fourth place as a team. Kel Knehans, the junior high boy’s coach, said, “I was very happy with how we competed. We had a good showing in the wind; we won a couple of events, but overall I’m very happy with how my boys competed.”
The girl’s team took home the runner-up plaque. 8th grader Sophie Schmidt helped the team by earning four first-place ribbons, adding 40 team points. 8th graders MaKenna Karr, Kerra Hofstetter, Kamille Karr, and 7th grader Brynlee Kushen came home with multiple ribbons as well. “Despite how cold and windy the meet was, the girls competed very well! I enjoyed seeing them cheer for each other and push one another to get the best results for the team. We have 3 more meets left and I look forward to seeing them improve,” said coach Henkel.
