The junior high Mustangs football team took home an outstanding win against the Harvard Cardinals. The ending score of the junior high game that took place on September 12, 2022, was 40-20 with the Mustangs taking home a win. Eighth-grader Brody Knehans scored several points for the Mustangs with long runs. Knehans and eighth grader Xander Journey connected on a long pass during the beginning of the game. 7th grader Laikyn Krueger had a very solid defensive game. Head coach Seth Elley said, “He was flying all over the field, making a lot of tackles.” Seventh grader Tanner Vance had a few good kickoffs where one was recovered and turned into a turnover. “The team played very well at certain times but there are still a few things that the team needs to work on. It was nice to see the 7th graders get a lot of playing time in the second half. It was a good learning experience for that group as a whole,” Coach Elley mentioned.
