Dear Students and Parents,
I want to thank all of you that are being patient with us as we attempt to get enrichment and learning activities out to you and your children. I’m happy to be able to give you some information today. Our teachers and Mr. Arntt and Mr. Bauer have worked hard these past few days to create a structure that we can use for our students and have been planning lessons within this structure. Amber Gibson is working with staff to provide the technology training to help us deliver instruction. We will begin next Wednesday, March 25th.
Information for next week (both elementary and secondary) will be out on our website later today (Friday). Please make sure that you view these before Monday.
We are going to make a computer available to all of our 3rd grade – 6th grade students for enrichment purposes. This is optional and as parents you can make the decision if you’d like your child (3rd -6th) to have one. A parent/guardian can check one out at the Elementary School in Bladen next Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am-6pm. These computers must be picked up by an adult – please do not bring anyone with you, we are trying to limit the number of people in the buildings.
Also, enrichment packets for Elementary students will be available next Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am-6pm at the Elementary School in Bladen. Again, these need to be picked up by an adult. Also, please come alone to limit the number of people at school. We have closed our buildings (Elementary and High School) to anyone that isn’t staff and a handful of delivery men except for the above pick-up times.
Mr. Bauer will be conducting a Zoom Meeting with all 7th-12th grade students next Tuesday, March 24th at 1:00pm. Watch for a link on our school website in the coming days.
Two terms that I want to make you award of: Enrichment and Education.
At this time we will be providing our elementary students with enrichment. Enrichment means that these activities are to help your children review and practice things that they have already learned. These activities will not be graded and entered in the gradebook.
Our 7th -12th grade students will be receiving education. Education means that it will be new material, it will have deadlines, and it will be graded. It is important for our secondary students and parents/guardians to understand we are treating these assignments as equal to what students would be doing if we were still in our physical buildings. This is school.
Thank-you
Mr. Cumpston
