Adams Central and Blue Hill were no match for the JV Lady Mustangs volleyball team on September 13th. The JV was split evenly so everyone got to play throughout the two games. The games were on a Monday evening which can be a struggle; however, the Lady Mustangs pulled through.
The first game was against Blue Hill. Freshman McKenna Pankoke commented, “I was nervous about our serves and communicating with each other but we excelled in both. Blue Hill is our rival so it was important to work hard and we all made sure to play 110%.” The Lady Mustangs had a total of seven aces against Blue Hill. Ending the first set 25-16 and the second set 25-18, the Mustangs started off strong and kept it that way throughout both sets.
Adams Central was the opponent for the second game. The Lady Mustangs won the first set with a score of 25-21 but they fell behind in the second set and lost 25-16. However, the ladies pulled through and won the third set 15-12. Throughout three sets, the Lady Mustangs achieved a total of 6 aces. Junior Middle Blocker Brooke Slangal said, “It was a big accomplishment and we showed how hard we’ve worked this season. We all worked so well together as a strong team to beat the Patriots.”
