The Silver Lake Mustangs boys program finished the 2019-2020 season with an 8-15 record. This year’s team made great improvements in February, winning 6 of the last 10 games. The team was able to get to a sub-district Final on February 27 after a sub-district win on February 25 against Lawrence/Nelson. On February 27, the Mustangs lost to Deshler to end the season. Silver Lake was led this season by Juniors Matthew Hansen, Blaine Simonton, Logan Greenough, & Sophomore Oakley Rosno. Rosno finished the season averaging 17.8 points per game, 5.1 rebounds per game, 4.7 assists per game & 3.2 steals per game. Hansen led the team in rebounding, averaging 6.3 rebounds per game. He also averaged 6 points per game. Simonton was the team leader in taking 9 charges. He also averaged 6.5 points per game. Greenough averaged 5 points & 5 rebounds per game. Coach Rosno stated “This group of student-athletes did a good job of improving the last 5 weeks of the season. With no seniors, we as a coaching staff are excited for the work ahead this summer to build for the 2020-2021 season.”
