The Mustang Football team traveled to Kenesaw on September 22 to play the Kenesaw Blue Devils. The Mustangs started the game off strong, scoring 13 points in the first quarter, but they let the Blue Devils keep it close by allowing 8 points. In the second quarter, the Mustangs got fired up and scored 12 more points making the score 25-8 at the end of the first half. Head Coach Connor Brown said, “I thought our defensive line did a great job of getting to the quarterback.” The Mustangs came out in the second half and gave no hope to the Blue Devils. The Mustangs scored once in each quarter and held the Blue Devils just to 6 points in the second half. Brown said, “I thought this was the best game we played so far this season. We competed well in all aspects of the game.” Senior Keaton Karr played really well acquiring a season-best in rushing yards at 207. He also helped the Mustangs, scoring four touchdowns. Senior Tayten Menke also had a kickoff return touchdown. Juniors Casey Conway and Lane Conway led the team in solo tackles at 3 a piece. The Mustangs improved their record to 3-2 on the season.
