The Mustang Football team ended the season fighting hard. On Friday, October 14, the Mustangs took a loss against the Blue Hill Bobcats. Even with a disappointing end of the season, the Mustangs still played their game. Senior Jake Knehans had a total of 25 rushing yards and a total of 29 passing yards. The team had a total of 48 tackles. A lot of emotions were high by the end because this was their last game of the season. Coach Conroy says, “First half we didn’t come out ready to play, and it showed, after halftime we made adjustments, we came out with more intensity and kept them from scoring. I thought we did ok with this being 8-man. It’s a big adjustment. We did not play a single game this year with all of our starters due to injuries, which took a major toll on us. However with all those injuries a lot of kids got a lot of opportunities and playing time they would not have had, which will prepare them for the next season.” This season there were four seniors and they all made a significant impact on all the players. Senior Logan Shockey says, “I think I did fine, I had some good hits and TFLs. It was good to play this season with these guys; it was a loss but we did really well in the second half. Overall it wasn’t the worst season you could have.” The Mustangs had a great season this year and will come back next year ready to play.
