The Mustang Cross Country team had their final run. On October 13, the Mustangs Cross Country team went to The Elks golf course in Hastings for districts. Freshman Hayden Karr was 39 seconds away from making it to State. His final time was 19:39. It was extremely windy which was a challenge for the runners. Sophomore Blake Monie and freshman Jayden Parr were the other two runners in the meet. Coach Knehans was devastated with this being the final meet of the season, but is now ready for next year. “All the athletes improved this year, we are a young team and still figuring out how to run our races. This was a great learning year, and everyone will be back next year. I’m really hoping to grow the program so we can consistently compete with both men’s and women’s teams.” The Mustangs stayed dedicated throughout the whole season. Freshman Jayden Parr said “I’ve improved a lot from the first meet. I got a 26:58 and my best meet was TVC, and my time was 23:28, and I’m eager for the next season and have a goal to break 20. Parr is proud of his team and what they accomplished this year. “My teammates did a great job competing, and working hard in practice and meets.”
