The Silver Lake football team has had a tough season with injuries. The team still took on Lawerence Nelson for the last home game of the season on October 7th. Before the game, Mustang seniors and their parents were recognized for their commitment to the program over the last four years. Senior football players are Braden Karr, Jake Knehans, Cody Pankoke, and Logan Shockey. “I am thankful for everything that Mustang country has done for us in the last four years,” said Karr. The Mustangs struggled to fight against the playoff bound Lawerence Nelson Raiders. Lawerence Nelson played a tough defense with a dynamic offense. Lawerence Nelson led 34-0 at half. The Mustangs kept up a hard fight in the second half, but loss 50-0. Knehans and junior Manuel Fontes led the team in tackles with 8 and 4, respectively. Karr is ready for a new week of work at practice to begin. “We are going to work very hard to be prepared for Blue Hill next week.” The Mustangs will take on the Blue Hill Bobcats on October 14th for the last game of the regular season.
