All for one. One for all. These lines are the Lady Mustangs’ motto for this season. They definitely followed this on the night of September 22nd. The Mustangs all came together and worked as a team to defeat Lawrence Nelson.
The Lady Mustangs lost their first set 17-25, but this loss didn’t stop them. They came out and won the next three sets. They won their second set 25-21, their third set 25-13, and their fourth set 25-17. The team celebrated each point they made and pushed each other to play their best. They played a successful defense with 136 digs, and they showed off their strength with 44 kills, 13 aces, and a serving percentage of 94%. Senior Brooklyn Meyer played a phenomenal game against the Raiders. She had the most digs (34), the most aces (4), and the most kills (12). When asked how she came out from losing her first set to playing one of her best games this season she said, “We really played as a team and everyone was encouraging each other. I knew our potential was bigger than how we were playing, so we needed to show everyone what we could do. I flushed my mistakes and came out with more confidence to win the next 3 sets.” They continue their season with a record of 9-5.
