Silver Lake was one of 22 schools to compete at the annual ACTIONS Day on Wednesday, March 16 at Central Community College – Hastings. Over 570 students registered to take academic tests, ranging from Accounting to Zoology.
Thirty-one students from Silver Lake participated in the competition. Students attending were Nathan Acosta, Sydney Bartels, Ashley Bonifas, Samantha Bonifas, Milla Butler, Casey Conway, Lane Conway, Amanda Ehrman, Max Hammer, Taylor Hanson, Savanna Junek, Brock Karr, Katelyn Karr, Keaton Karr, Maddie Karr, Jake Knehans, Cierra Mankhey, Rehgan Miller, Landon Nabower, McKenna Pankoke, Clay Plambeck, Cody Plambeck, Reagan Rust, Jeremy Sharp, Josi Sharp, AJ Sommer, Katelyn Strampher, Lana Swanson, Georgi tenBensel, Trey Vance, and Lexi Wengler. Each student took three tests, ate lunch in the CCC cafeteria, and then watched the awards ceremony.
The top five student places in each category each received trophies. Silver Lake students earning trophies included the following:
A J Sommer – Spelling – 2nd place
Milla Butler – Syllabication – 3rd place
Landon Nabower – English II – 3rd place
Samantha Bonifas – Accounting – 4th place
Maddie Karr – English I – 4th place
Brock Karr – Fractions – 4th place
Clay Plambeck – Geometry – 5th place
