On Monday, January 10, ten students showed up at school, ready to leave for a day of fun. Sydney Bartels, Maddie Karr, Amanda Ehrman, Katelyn Karr, Lexi Wengler, Brooklyn Meyer, MaKenna Karr, AJ Sommer, Brandon Trausch, and Ashton Kenley all went above and beyond this semester and received over 100 AR points to qualify for the AR party. The students were rewarded with a day of fun in Grand Island. Mrs. Klein and Mrs. Heuertz took the group of students to Olive Garden for lunch, and once they were all stuffed up, they paused for a group picture and headed to the mall. After spending the rest of the afternoon shopping, they went to Coldstone for a nice cold cup of ice cream. The students had a blast. Seniors Katelyn Karr and Amanda Ehrman loved it. Karr commented on the AR party saying, βI think it was a really good idea. It encourages students to read and gives them a reward for all their effort.β Ehrman enjoyed the day: βIt was fun to spend a day away from school and be able to go shopping and eat out.β This semester, students will have the same opportunity if they receive at least 100 AR points. Last semester’s scholastic readers really encourage other students to go all out and join them at the party next time!
