The Silver Lake Lady Mustangs started off their basketball season on their home court strong, picking up a win from a Twin Valley Conference competitor, Deshler. The Mustangs had a hot start, putting up 12 points in the first quarter and holding Deshler to just 3.
However, the Dragons outscored the Mustangs in the next two quarters to lead the Mustangs going into the fourth quarter 27-26. Silver Lake found some momentum again to edge off the Dragons outscoring them 18-10 in the last quarter of play to win 44-37. Struggling from behind the arch, the Mustangs only shot 14% from three-point range; however, inside the arch, the Mustangs managed to shoot 45%. Adding 12 steals and 27 rebounds helped the Mustangs secure the victory. The Mustangs look to eliminating some turnovers before they battle the Wildcats on Tuesday, December 10.
