The volleyball season came to an end, as the Lady Mustangs took on the Flyers for the first round of sub-districts. On October 25 on their home court, Silver Lake gave their all and left everything on the court, but fell short and lost in four sets. This was the fourth match-up between the two teams this season. Silver Lake won the first three matches against Franklin, however, lost the last one.
As this was the season-ending game, it was a tough loss for the team, but especially for the three seniors. Everyone on the court gave all that they could. According to Coach Jenn tenBensel, “The girls played with a lot of heart and passion. They played hard until the very last point.” Even though the Mustangs didn’t finish on top, they competed to the best of their abilities. Senior Amanda Ehrman managed six of the seven ace serves during the Monday match. The team totaled an astonishing 51 kills during the four sets. Senior Trista Hanson commented, “We have improved by all coming together as a team and playing hard for every point, no matter the situation.” The Lady Mustangs have worked hard throughout the whole season to improve as much as they could.
