On Monday, October 5th, the Mobile Classroom for Southwest Dairy Farmers came to Silver Lake Elementary with a LIVE Cow, in their Mobile Dairy Classroom to teach our students about the Importance of Dairy Products, how the milk comes from the cow to their dinner table. Their instructors demonstrated how to milk a cow, described how milk goes from the farm to the consumer, and then answered questions from the students. This innovative program brought the dairy experience directly to our students. Our teachers were given educational materials that could share with students that includes math, science, health (nutrition), and agriculture, all presented in the outdoor classroom format.
